Ferragamo Launches Capsule Collection Inspired by the Shoemaker's Early Days In Hollywood Salvatore Ferragamo may be an Italian fashion house, but its namesake designer got his foothold in the business as a cobbler-to-the-stars in Hollywood, designing shoes for such films such as The Ten Commandments, then opening the Hollywood Boot Shop at Hollywood Boulevard and Las Palmas. Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, Joan Crawford, Gloria Swanson and Audrey Hepburn were clients. Ferragamo even studied anatomy at the University of Southern California to learn how to make his shoes more comfortable, before returning to Italy in 1927 and settling in Florence, where he developed such groundbreaking designs as the wedge heel. This month, the brand pays tribute to the designer’s early years with the new Salvatore Ferragamo Creations 1927 capsule collection, launched in conjunction with the opening of the new exhibition "1927 The Return to Italy" open through May 2018 at the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence. The six-piece capsule collection, $1090 to $2900, reproduces original Salvatore Ferragamo designs from this period, including a Hollywood-appropriate star-studded dancing shoe, and will be sold exclusively at the Beverly Hills and New York Fifth Avenue flagships in the U.S. short bridesmaid dresses | cadbury purple bridesmaid dresses
